Cookies was founded in 2012 by rapper and entrepreneur Berner (Gilbert Milam Jr.) and master cultivator Jai Chang in San Francisco. What began as a collaboration to develop exclusive cannabis genetics has grown into the most globally recognized cannabis lifestyle brand in the world.

The brand's signature strain, Girl Scout Cookies (GSC), became one of the most influential cannabis strains of the 2010s — spawning dozens of phenotypes and crosses that dominate dispensary menus to this day. Cookies' genetics program, developed with Jai Chang, has produced dozens of exclusive strains including Gelato, Sunset Sherbet, and London Pound Cake.

Cookies operates dispensaries in multiple states and licenses its brand to partner cultivators who must meet strict quality standards. The brand's streetwear aesthetic — the iconic blue and white Cookies logo — has made it as recognizable in hip-hop culture as in cannabis culture.
