Recreational Cannabis

Adults 21+ can legally purchase, possess, and cultivate cannabis. Oregon has one of the most liberal cannabis policies in the nation with generous possession limits and home growing rights.

Medical Cannabis

Oregon was one of the first states to legalize medical marijuana in 1998. Medical patients receive additional benefits including higher possession limits and tax exemptions.

Recreational Possession Limits

Home Cultivation (Recreational)

• • Adults 21+ can grow up to 4 plants per household

How to Get a Medical Card

1. Establish Oregon residency
2. Get diagnosed with qualifying condition
3. Obtain physician recommendation
4. Apply through Oregon Health Authority
5. Pay $200 fee ($60 for low-income, $20 for veterans)
6. Receive card within 30 days
